“DIRECTORS VIEW”
- Medium: Acrylic on artists canvas
- Size: 42 X 30 CM
Description:
Gonarezhou and its iconic cliffs above the Runde River must be one of the most amazing places left in Africa to go on a bush holiday. Not yet overrun by private concessions or tourists vehicles, this beautiful park offers true ‘life in the bush’ holidays, where you can get away from it all and just rejoice in what nature has in store for you.
One of the best, if not THE best spots for enjoying these cliffs and the river has to be “DIRECTORS CAMP” from where this scene was taken.
Lovely shade, beautiful views of the cliffs and river, animals including elephant in your camp and total seclusion from the outside world. It is highly sought after, though, and attempts to book it, made even a year ahead, are not always successful.
Wallowing in the shallow waters of the river, braais and picnic lunches, long game drives and evening sundowners are just what the doctor ordered when staying here. The elephants wandering down to drink accompanied by laughter, wonderful conversation and the clink of ice in a glass of the best whisky just accentuates the joy and beauty of this wonderful place.
